Awarded the Air Force Cross (AFC) in 1919 Invested as a Fellow Royal Aeronautical Society (FRAeS) Invested Commander, Order of the British Empire (CBE) in 1934 & knight Bachelor in 1944 Decorated with Order of Merit (OM) in 1962 Designer of the famous de Havilland Moth & Mosquito aircraft amoung others.
